(2015)

for solo violin

duration: 3’

written for Alejandro Schaikis

first performance: July 3, 2019, Ramificaciones: festival de música y multimedia, Museo Rafael Coronel, Zacatecas, México.

Alejandro Schaikis, violin

The piece is conceived in four short sections that are integrated from harmony. In each of these parts, the aim is to explore a different type of musical gesture to create a characteristic sound world, especially expressed in the timbre and rhythmic particularities of the materials used. The harmonic repertoire of the piece is based on one of the modes of limited transposition exposed by Olivier Messiaen in his work Technique de mon langage musical, while the timbral variety used opens the field towards an idiomatic exploration of the instrument.
