Alejandro Aguilar (b. 1988) is an argentine composer and guitarist.

 

Since the beginning of 2018, he has participated collectively in the group SITIO, an emerging experimental music project formed by composers and instrumentalists based in Buenos Aires.

​

His music has been performed by various formations and soloists, such as the Ensamble de Música Contemporánea del DAMus, the DosUno Ensamble, the Dinamo 3 Ensamble, the violinist Alejandro Schaikis, the pianists Martina Copello and Roxana Baldor, and the guitarist Ricardo Cuadros Pradilla.

He has participated in workshops dictated by the duo Manos a las Obras (2016), the Resident Ensemble of the NuJas Festival (2017), the violist Odile Auboin (2018), the Ensemble Tropi within the framework of Residence 2 at the Centro de Experimentación del Teatro Colón (2019), the residence of Resonar, meeting between composers and performers (2021) and the Residence Nanópera of Barbados artes escénicas (2022).

He has completed a Bachelor's Degree in Composition (DAMus UNA), and the Guitar Faculty (Conservatory of Music in San Pedro). He is currently pursuing a Higher Diploma in Contemporary Music with an orientation in Composition and a Technical Degree in Early Music (“Manuel de Falla” Higher Conservatory of Music).

He has studied composition with Santiago Santero, Diego Taranto and Mauricio Cimini, and early music with Hernán Vives and Claudio Morla, among others.

​

He also works as a teacher.
